I’m back with another Whole30 video! This time we’re talking about my number ONE Whole30 hack. That’s batch cooking! What does that mean? Well batch cooking means cooking a large amount of either a dish or ingredients and keeping them in your fridge for the week. That way, when you get home from work and you’re too tired to think, you can just open your fridge and reheat. Such an easy Whole30 dinner!
During the winter, I love doing this with chili or soup. But what’s more fun is doing it with ingredients. Meal prep on Sunday large portions of a protein (chicken, beef, bison, etc) and large portions of a carb (potatoes, squash, etc) and maybe even large portions of veggies. Then when you get home, experiment with mixing different combinations. You can either just eat them plain or mix them with other ingredients for a cool meal! This is also great if you’re counting macros because you can adjust the portions of each ingredient to hit your macros for the night.
Here is one idea to get you started. This meal is Whole30-approved, low carb, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free etc. And it was so tasty I made more for a Whole30 lunch the next day!
Ground bison (batch cooked)
Eggplant (batch cooked)
Mix ingredients on the stove for about 10 minutes and you’re done.
Let me know if you have any more Whole30 meal ideas in the comments below! And if you’re doing the September Whole30 let me know how it’s going! What are you struggling with? What are you succeeding at?
